Senior Healthcare Administrator

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm | Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Administrator to join a busy healthcare service based in Portlaoise.
This is a varied role within a specialist clinical department where you will coordinate patient services, manage scheduling, and support clinicians. You’ll play a key role in ensuring patients receive an efficient, professional and seamless service.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage multiple priorities and thrives on building strong relationships with both colleagues and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of two administrators.
  • Coordinate the daily schedules of field-based nurses.
  • Liaise with patients to arrange appointments and home visits.
  • Work closely with clinicians and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Process referrals and prescriptions accurately.
  • Prepare and manage invoicing and administrative documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data is updated promptly.
  • Respond professionally to patient and clinician enquiries.
  • Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 3 years’ administration experience in a busy environment.
  • Previous scheduling or workforce planning experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence working alongside healthcare professionals.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to motivate and support colleagues.

Desirable

  • Previous healthcare or HSE administration experience.
  • Experience coordinating field-based teams.
