SENIOR ACCESSIBILITY ADVISOR

OVERVIEW
This is a client-facing role focused on delivering accessibility compliance across a diverse range of construction projects. You will take ownership of projects from design through to completion, combining technical expertise with on-site presence and client advisory. The position offers exposure to varied, high-impact projects and the opportunity to develop as a specialist in a growing area of the built environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of construction projects from early design to completion
  • Carry out on-site inspections to ensure compliance with Part M and granted DACs
  • Review drawings, specifications, and design proposals for accessibility compliance
  • Prepare and manage Disability Access Certificate (DAC) applications and revisions
  • Conduct accessibility audits and produce clear, professional reports
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing practical and compliant solutions
  • Coordinate compliance documentation in line with BCAR and regulatory requirements
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and overall progress
  • Work closely with internal teams, including task allocation, peer review, and technical support

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction, or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Part M / TGD M and accessibility standards
  • Proven ability to review technical drawings and identify compliance issues
  • Experience working on-site with a solid understanding of construction processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with Disability Access Certificate (DAC) applications
  • Experience carrying out accessibility audits
  • Familiarity with BCAR processes and documentation
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
