The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Network and In-Home commercial teams to support the effective management of project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting. This position requires a commercially focused professional with strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Commercial Management
- Support operational and commercial teams in achieving project budgets and margin targets
- Monitor project performance and report on cost and revenue variances
- Ensure CVR reporting is fully reconciled against approved project budgets
- Continuously review project budgets alongside Project Directors
- Ensure internal commercial controls are operating effectively
- Review and manage contract claims, variations, and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
Subcontractor Management
- Ensure all subcontractor documentation and compliance requirements are in place prior to commencement
- Review and monitor subcontractor performance and commercial position on a monthly basis
- Manage payment schedules and cashflow forecasting for subcontractors
- Monitor retention and payment release dates
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Develop KPI and exception reporting across projects
- Review monthly P&L performance with project teams
- Report weekly on WIP, debtors, and working capital performance
- Support revenue assurance, budgeting, and forecasting activities
- Assist with ad hoc commercial and financial projects as required
Tenders & Contract Renewals
- Support the commercial management of tenders and contract renewals
- Develop pricing models, revenue forecasts, and cost projections
- Conduct commercial risk analysis and impact assessments
- Support proposal and tender submissions alongside bid management teams
- Participate in commercial contract negotiations with clients
- Develop project timelines, cost profiles, schedules, and margin forecasts for awarded works
- Maintain ongoing forecasting for project timelines, costs to completion, and final account position
Requirements
- Previous experience within a busy commercial, finance, or quantity surveying environment
- Strong understanding of contractual and commercial management principles
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and organisational ability
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
- Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced project environment
- Professional and confident approach when representing the business
