Payroll & Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant reports directly to the Support Services Manager and the main function of your role is to co-ordinate and manage the day-to-day financial functions.
The responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will involve:
- The use of the accounting software, which includes invoicing, account settlement for residents and the ongoing settlement of trade supplier accounts.
- The ability to produce in-house accurate monthly wages is of the utmost importance, together with the management of the TMS system.
- The timely upkeep of the financial function of the business is a priority and includes the production of management accounts as well as day to day financial activities and all aspects of debtor, creditor, banking and payroll control and various other accounting functions.
- All front of house activities can touch on this position.
- Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Support Services Manager.
- The foregoing should not be considered exhaustive.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Desirable: Certificate in Accounting Technicians Ireland or similar.
- Essential:
- Previous experience in a similar role, especially in processing a voluminous weekly payroll.
- Knowledge of accounting packages: Big Red Book, Micropay and TMS.
- Microsoft Office/Computer skills.
- Office Administration.
- Phone skills.
- Effective verbal & listening skills.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
