Clark Recruitment is currently managing the recruitment process for an exciting opportunity with a leading horticultural business located in Naas, Co. Kildare. Our client is renowned for producing award-winning trees, shrubs, and plants, supplying both the retail and wholesale markets.

This is a full-time position with benefits, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing environment, operating specialised machinery within a thriving nursery.

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Planting & Production Machine Operator to join our client’s team, supporting daily operations within the nursery. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining key machinery used in tree cultivation, plant processing, and general nursery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain tractors, root ball machines, pruning platforms, and tractor attachments to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Support field nursery operations, including planting, harvesting, and processing trees and shrubs.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machinery.
  • Apply high levels of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of machine operation and plant care.
  • Follow strict health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to support various nursery and horticultural tasks.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in machine operation, ideally within a nursery, agricultural, or horticultural setting.
  • Knowledge of workshop maintenance and basic mechanical repairs (advantageous but not essential).
  • A strong interest in tree cultivation and machinery operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in an outdoor environment and adapt to changing weather conditions.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in both machinery operation and plant handling.
  • A registered pesticide user is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive attitude toward learning and development.
