Financial Controller

My Naas based client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full suite of finance functions with overall delivery of accurate financial and management accounts, managing key financial processes, and overseeing the work of the finance team members (on site and remote). Responsibilities will include:
•    Overseeing the finance function, financial reporting and the provision of management information to senior leadership teams and external bodies.
•    Ensure ruthless accuracy of all financial postings, transactions and reporting.
•    Overseeing the timely delivery of cost statements across multiple external funders, assisting in preparation when required.
•    Leading business planning, budgets, and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
•    Weekly payment runs.
•    Reviewing GAAP-compliant audit files, ensuring income, expenditure, debtor, and creditor figures align with financial statements.
•    Managing the statutory audit, ensuring all required audit information is gathered and completed in line with best practices.
•    Coordinating the team's workflow, ensuring deliverables are completed within tight deadlines.
•    Providing technical financial guidance to the very experienced team of AP & AR.
•    Reviewing business performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and working closely with local management to challenge and improve efficiency.
•    Managing and maintaining statutory and non-statutory leave entitlements in line with organisational policies.
•    Implementing audit recommendations into ongoing work practices.
•    Oversee management of payroll department
•    Monthly statutory filing (VAT, PAYE etc)
•    Deliver efficiencies in processes to streamline monthly account reporting 
•    Daily Cash flow management and invoice discounting facility
•    Customer Pricing models ownership
•    Lead the customer profitability reporting design program
•    Ad hoc projects and reporting for CFO.

Required skills and qualifications

•    Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience.
•    Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel (experience with Sage 50 or a similar ERP system is advantageous).
•    Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
•    Proven ability to understand and redesign reporting and operational processes.
•    Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
