My Navan-based client seeks an IT Specialist – Network and Infrastructure to join their team. This role involves overseeing both wired and wireless network infrastructure, as well as assisting with physical and virtual server systems. Working collaboratively, you'll ensure infrastructure reliability, updates, and proper backups. You'll also assess new system requirements and support automation initiatives. Coordination with production ensures network availability and scalability to accommodate operational growth. This multifaceted role within a dynamic IT team offers opportunities to contribute beyond defined scopes, making it ideal for someone eager to impact diverse IT functions.
Core Duties:
  • Creating, prioritising, maintaining, and progressing roadmaps for network and / or server infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting issues with network and / or server infrastructure
  • Ensuring the network and / or server infrastructure is kept up to date with the latest security patches
  • Ensuring that there are sufficient disaster recovery plans including backups to recover from an incident
  • Monitoring the capacity of the network / server infrastructure to advise and implement upgrades as needed
  • Providing technical expertise as part of project teams as and when needed to assess technical requirements and ensure appropriate resource planning
  • Assisting End-Users with queries and issues
  • Cross-functional and flexible work practices
  • Performing other related duties as required by your supervisor including relief for other members of the team
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Cisco or HPE network switches and advantageous experience with Cisco Wireless platforms
  • Familiarity with Virtualisation Environments (VMWare, Hyper V) and managing Windows Servers
  • Background in IT department operations, showcasing strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
