General Operator/ Fabricator
Job Title: Timber Manufacturing General Operator
Location: Kill, Co Kildare
Salary: €15.50-€16.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Shift work available (Shift premium of 20%)
Driver's License: Required
Medical Requirement: Mandatory
Job Description:
As the chosen candidate, you will play a crucial role in our timber manufacturing company based in Kill, Co Kildare. Your responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the secure fabrication of pole products on-site, in strict adherence to customer specifications and compliance with relevant EN quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Secure Fabrication:
- Execute secure fabrication of pole products in accordance with customer specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant EN quality standards.

Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with fellow team members in fabrication.
- Facilitate the smooth execution of daily treatment charges loading/unloading.
- Fulfill additional duties as needed.

Housekeeping Standards:
- Implement 6S principles throughout the fabrication process.
- Uphold outstanding housekeeping standards on a daily basis.

EHS Standards:
- Adhere to Company Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards daily.
- Investigate any deviations and report as necessary.

Training and Checks:
- Participate in relevant training for daily tasks.
- Engage actively in team-based work.
- Complete daily checks under CATCH for pole quality, pole cut-backs, and H&S equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Essential:

Equipment Proficiency:
- Proficient in the daily use of chainsaws, drills, and other cutting/boring equipment.

Product Quality:
- Extensive working knowledge of customer product quality specifications.

Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive demeanor.

Organizational Skills:
- Well-organized and conscientious.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Desired or Willing to be Trained:

Manufacturing Systems:
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing systems & 6S.

Educational Background:
- Introductory wood science or forestry management qualification.

Team Collaboration:
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Willingness to lead and share responsibilities as needed.

Compliance and Understanding:
- Comprehensive understanding of Company E,H&S policy requirements and quality standards.
