Data Manager

We are seeking an experienced Data Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation’s data landscape. This is a senior role with responsibility for shaping data strategy, governance, quality, and lifecycle management, ensuring data is treated as a high-value enterprise asset that supports informed decision-making, efficiency, and innovation.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will work cross-functionally with IT, Risk, and business stakeholders to define how data is acquired, governed, integrated, and consumed across the organisation. You will lead technology and process decisions relating to master data management, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud platforms, and data quality frameworks, while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the enterprise data strategy, maximising value while mitigating data-related risk.
• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Oversee data acquisition, cleansing, maintenance, distribution, and lifecycle management.
• Act as the primary point of contact for data-related support, analysis, and enhancements.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align data initiatives with business priorities.
• Drive technology selection across ETL/ELT, MDM, data modelling, and integration.
• Manage data vendors, datasets, licenses, and SLAs.
• Ensure reliable data delivery to consuming applications and platforms.
• Develop dashboards and performance insights to support business decision-making.

Experience & Skills Required

• 10+ years’ experience in enterprise data, data engineering, or data management roles.
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and Big Data environments.
• Cloud data experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong SQL and RDBMS experience (Oracle / SQL Server desirable).
• Experience working in scalable, distributed systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments.
• Proven ability to lead through complexity, influence outcomes, and drive change.
