Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cost planning and budgeting
  • Support preparation of valuations and payment applications
  • Measure works from drawings and on-site
  • Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors
  • Track variations and project costs
  • Support final account preparation
  • Liaise with site teams and commercial team
  • Maintain accurate records and reports

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • 1–3 years’ experience (placement or post-grad)
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Good understanding of construction fundamentals
  • Proficient in Excel

Overview
Our client is expanding and hiring a commercially sharp Purchaser to take ownership of procurement across multiple active construction projects. This is a high-impact role where you will directly influence cost, programme delivery, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials (brick, block, mortar, stone, etc.) across multiple sites
  • Negotiate best-in-market pricing and supplier terms
  • Manage purchase orders end-to-end
  • Coordinate just-in-time deliveries to meet site programmes
  • Work closely with site managers and QS team on requirements
  • Monitor spend and drive cost efficiencies
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships
  • Troubleshoot supply chain issues proactively
  • Track and report on procurement performance

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years’ purchasing experience (construction highly desirable)
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Strong Excel / systems capability
