Management Accountant
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Management Accountant to take ownership of the month-end process and deliver accurate, timely financial information to support business performance and decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working across systems, controls, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including full end-of-month close.
- Review and analyse profit and loss movements, investigating variances and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and intercompany accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payment runs and approval processes.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, VIES, and statutory returns in line with regulatory deadlines.
- Perform cashflow analysis and support cashflow forecasting and liquidity management.
- Lead budget preparation, monitor performance, and analyse budget versus actual variances.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee depreciation calculations.
- Manage price increases within the system, supporting system updates and process changes.
- Support the year-end audit process, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls and reporting.
- Produce KPI and management reporting to support leadership and operational teams.
