Transport Planner – Fermoy Co. Cork
My client is currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Planner to join their logistics team. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of transport operations, while meeting customer service, cost, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise daily and weekly transport schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and collections
- Manage routing and load planning to maximise fleet and driver utilisation
- Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and manage priorities
- Monitor transport KPIs, service levels, and costs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health & safety, and company procedures
- Handle customer queries, delivery changes, and service escalations in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate transport records and reporting using TMS and Microsoft Office tools
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics role
- Strong knowledge of transport operations, routing, and scheduling
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transport management systems
- Knowledge of transport legislation and compliance (desirable)
