People Process & Digital Optimisation Specialist – 12 month contract

Curious. Tech-savvy. Impact-driven.

We’re on the lookout for a proactive, digitally fluent professional who is energised by uncovering inefficiencies, reimagining how things could work better, and implementing smart, simple tech solutions that make a big difference.

In this newly created role, you’ll partner with our HR, Recruitment, and broader People teams to redesign how work gets done—eliminating admin burdens, improving communication, and enabling our people function to focus on what really matters: creating value for people, not pushing paper.

We need someone with a curious mind who asks “why” (a lot), enjoys picking apart clunky processes, and gets a buzz from putting the right digital tools and automations in place. If you’re the type who experiments with no-code tools for fun or finds yourself streamlining everyday life with clever hacks—this is your perfect playground.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Review & Redesign

  • Map out and evaluate current People/HR processes (e.g. recruitment, onboarding, payroll input, reporting).

  • Identify inefficiencies, duplication, or manual workarounds.

  • Redesign and standardise workflows to be lean, consistent, and scalable.

  • Create and maintain clear SOPs to embed new ways of working.

2. Digital Transformation & Automation

  • Build lightweight digital solutions using tools like Power Automate, MS Forms, Excel macros, or others you recommend.

  • Automate repetitive tasks to save time and reduce errors.

  • Collaborate with IT to connect systems and ensure seamless flow of data and actions.

  • Stay on top of emerging tech and suggest innovative, cost-effective solutions.

    Example projects might include:
Automating interview scheduling and candidate feedback collection.
Creating digital onboarding forms that feed directly into payroll input.
Developing a Power BI dashboard to track time-to-hire or staff attrition.
Replacing manual reports with live data visuals across key HR metrics.

3. Data & Reporting Enablement

  • Simplify and improve how HR data is collected, stored, and reported.

  • Build dynamic dashboards and self-service reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the function.

4. Change Enablement & Continuous Improvement

  • Co-design improvements with HR colleagues—don’t just deliver change, build it with them.

  • Create simple guides or deliver short, informal training to support roll-out.

  • Act as an internal champion of continuous improvement—helping the team adopt smarter ways of working and fostering a mindset of curiosity and experimentation.

What You Bring

  • Experience in HR operations, business operations, project coordination, or similar roles.

  • Strong skills in automation, workflows, and digital tools – you’re confident analysing a process and creating an automated version of it.

  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate, Zapier, or other no-code/low-code platforms.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Excel, Forms, SharePoint); bonus if you know Power BI or similar reporting tools.

  • Curious, questioning mindset – you’re not afraid to challenge “how it’s always been done.”

  • Great communicator – someone who can translate tech into plain English and make digital tools feel accessible for everyone.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience within an HR, People or Recruitment team.

  • Familiarity with HR systems (e.g. Workday, BambooHR, CoreHR).

  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or structured process improvement methodologies.

  • Previous involvement in change enablement, training, or adoption support.
