Hygiene Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Shift: Evening/Night shifts (with occasional weekends)
Reports to: Hygiene Manager

We are partnering with a leading food manufacturing company to recruit an experienced Hygiene Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic business and play a key role in maintaining world-class hygiene standards.


About the Role

As Hygiene Supervisor, you will lead and motivate a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring compliance with BRC and customer standards. You’ll manage cleaning schedules, oversee chemical safety, and drive continuous improvement across hygiene processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise hygiene operatives to achieve daily targets and maintain factory cleanliness.
  • Plan and manage cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) in line with staffing availability.
  • Maintain hygiene records, SOPs, and CICs to meet food safety standards.
  • Oversee chemical management, including safe storage, dosing checks, and compliance with COSHH.
  • Conduct hygiene audits, ATP and microbiological swabs, and support technical investigations.
  • Manage hygiene consumables, stock control, and budget reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and PPE requirements.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing hygiene teams in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning systems, chemicals, and food safety regulations (BRC or equivalent).
  • Flexible approach to working evening/night shifts and occasional weekends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to engage and motivate teams.
