Domestic Transport Planner

Job Title: Domestic Transport Planner

Location: Rathcoole, County Dublin
Hours: 09:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday (flexible)

My client, a well-established and growing logistics provider, is currently recruiting a Domestic Transport Planner to support continued expansion within their domestic distribution department. This role is based in South Dublin and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planner or logistics administrator to progress their career within a company operating across Ireland, the UK, and international markets.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating domestic transport operations, ensuring customer delivery requirements are met efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively. This position would suit a detail-oriented professional with strong systems skills and a solid understanding of logistics and transport planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily import manifests and transport bookings in line with company procedures

  • Plan and coordinate domestic deliveries to meet customer requirements in a cost-effective manner

  • Ensure all files, billing, and costing are accurately processed within agreed timeframes

  • Maintain clear communication with customers regarding order progress, delays, or exceptions

  • Liaise with internal departments and external partners to resolve discrepancies

  • Produce and distribute delivery, performance, and operational reports

  • Ensure full compliance with SOPs and administrative processes

  • Support operational projects and assist other functions within the operations team when required

  • Promote a positive and collaborative working environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a logistics, transport planning, or related role (advantageous)

  • Strong systems proficiency, including ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of the logistics and freight forwarding industry (desirable)

  • Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and the UK

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and communication skills

  • Reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused
