Role Overview: As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for strategizing, leading, overseeing, and monitoring all production and maintenance activities. Your primary objective will be to optimize the utilization of the organization's resources to meet customer demand, adhere to established production specifications, and maintain production schedules.

Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the performance of the production facility, emphasizing efficiency and labor utilization.
  • Generate comprehensive production and management data, including downtime reports, waste analysis, process documentation, non-conformance reports, and on-hold logs, and take appropriate actions based on the data.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company, customer, and legal requirements pertaining to food safety and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to address identified issues and escalate matters to the Factory Manager when necessary.
  • Chair daily production meetings with area supervisors, maintenance teams, quality control personnel, and material supply teams.
  • Optimize production parameters to consistently deliver high-quality products according to specifications.
  • Monitor and control costs to stay within budgetary limits.
  • Implement Lean and continuous improvement practices across all processes.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, annual leave, and monthly payroll processes.
  • Conduct employee appraisals, probationary performance reviews, and ongoing performance management activities.
  • Handle employee issues and disciplinary matters in coordination with the Factory Manager and HR department.
  • Focus on energy and waste conservation and management.
  • Propose new initiatives and improvements to enhance evolving processes, and define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training matrices as needed.
  • Promote zero-waste principles in ingredient and finished product handling, mitigating risks to the business.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience: To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in team leadership within a similar role or environment.
  • Strong business acumen within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Essential experience in project management.
  • Proven track record in team development and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to proactively manage dynamic situations with a hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership in operations management.
  • Proficiency in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles strategically.
