Our client, a market leader in the medical and scientific fields, are now recruiting a Inventory & Purchasing Assistant to join their team in Naas. 
12 Month Contract 

Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
  • Assess stock levels regularly, organized by agency and item, on a structured monthly/weekly basis to determine necessary orders from suppliers.
  • Maintain a record of internally agreed-upon stock holding covers (weeks/months) along with transport lead times.
  • Ensure purchase orders are authorized before placing orders with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding order confirmations and any stock supply issues.
  • Monitor monthly total stock values by division and agency, aiming to minimize working capital invested in stocks while preventing stock outs.
  • Continuously update stock files, including product setup, cost price, selling price, margin, and details of new suppliers.
  • Monitor, review, and manage demonstration and loan stocks by division, agency, and sales staff, providing regular reports.
  • Collaborate with management and sales teams to reduce slow-moving and non-moving stocks by issuing regular reports and assisting with returns to suppliers.
Back-order Management and Communication:
  • Actively manage and monitor customer and supplier back orders daily to ensure prompt receipt, updating Customer Service and Sales teams as needed.
  • Communicate with internal staff regarding all back orders and delivery issues.
  • Monitor stock levels by line daily, weekly, and monthly to minimize the risk of stock outs on any stock lines.
Carriage and Customs:
  • Coordinate with Customs regarding duties and file and reconcile all monthly SADs.
  • Liaise with suppliers and transport companies to ensure timely and efficient collection and transportation of stocks, including emergency stock requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding returns, including credit notes and replacement stocks.
Reporting, Investigation, and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Generate and distribute daily sales reports, month-end operational reports, and ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Participate in planning, preparing, and executing year-end, interim, and continuous stock counts for each division, including resolving stock count queries.
  • Prepare and administer WEEE Returns, REPAK Returns, and Intrastat Returns, liaising with external providers as necessary.
  • Adhere to all quality, financial, and internal control procedures, as well as health and safety requirements.
  • Represent the company's best interests at all times.
  • Provide coverage for other members of the Inventory and Purchasing team during leave or absence.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as requested by group and divisional management teams.

Skills/Qualifications Required:
  • Experience in inventory control and purchasing, preferably in a distribution setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
  • Effective communication skills with key stakeholders.
