We are proudly partnering with our client in recruiting a contract cyber security consultant for a 12-month period. The successful candidate will be based in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford on a daily rate of €250-€300.

The Operational Technology (OT) Security Consultant project centres on spearheading a significant transformation in operational technology (OT) security. The consultant's primary role involves collaborating with both our client and our client’s customers to enhance their OT security posture, tackling the evolving landscape of cyber threats.  This necessitates a comprehensive assessment of current systems to identify and remediate security gaps, implement technical improvements, and ensure a robust, resilient infrastructure.

Key responsibilities encompass:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect client operational technology (OT) infrastructure and systems.
  • Cybersecurity factory and site Acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
  • Work on technical documentation as needed (FDS, DDS, FAT, MOS, etc.)
  • Ensure optimal security by configuring network equipment, servers, endpoint protection, backup and restore systems, and virtualisation solutions.
  • Participate in risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security weaknesses.
  • Participate in security incident response activities and provide forensic support.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest OT cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.
  • Engage in active collaboration with stakeholders. This includes regular reporting and extensive documentation of the security enhancements and processes undertaken.
  • Training and knowledge transfer to the internal teams, ensuring they are well-equipped to maintain and manage the enhanced security systems. The consultant’s expertise will not only facilitate immediate improvements but also provide ongoing support and consultation, ensuring long-term security and efficiency in the organisations’ OT environments.

Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in networks

  • 1+ years of experience in OT Industrial Control System

  • 2+ years performing the installation and/or management of network-based firewalls, preferably Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, or another top-tier product.

  • Trained in network troubleshooting using sniffers and monitors.

  • Knowledgeable of performing the installation and/or management of network-based Intrusion Detection products.

  • 1+ years advanced systems administration (Windows Active Directory)

  • Knowledgeable of implementing End-Point security solutions and EDR (Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention, Host IPS, Whitelisting).

  • 1+ years of experience in implementing system backup solutions.

  • 1+ years in scripting skills and programming language (python, PowerShell, Bash etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity or computer related field.

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a must.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is a plus.

  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) is a plus.

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or OSCP is a plus.

  • ISA99 or IC32-34 related OT certification is a plus.
