Job Title: Freight Forwarder
Location: Rathcoole, South County Dublin
My client, a well-established and growing logistics provider, is currently seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to support continued business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join a dynamic operations team and play a key role in delivering efficient, cost-effective freight solutions.
The Role
As Freight Forwarder, you will coordinate closely with customers, overseas agents, and internal teams to manage import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery. You will ensure a high level of service by optimising shipping efficiency, maintaining accurate records, and keeping customers fully informed throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, agents, and colleagues

Coordinate and oversee import and export freight movements, ensuring timely and efficient delivery

Monitor bookings and shipments using internal systems and tracking tools

Input and manage shipment data accurately within the in-house operational system

Liaise with carriers and overseas agents to secure and finalise all required documentation

Maintain excellent customer communication, providing updates and resolving queries

Ensure files, billing, and costing are completed accurately and within required timeframes

Proactively manage exceptions, delays, or changes and communicate these effectively

Support a positive and collaborative working environment

Assist with additional operational or administrative duties as required
Skills & Experience Required

Strong communication skills with customers and multi-functional stakeholders

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Confident using systems such as ERP platforms and Excel
-
Good geographical knowledge of Europe (advantageous)

Strong numeracy, literacy, and analytical skills
-
Reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused
-
Full, clean driving licence required

Due to location, own transport is preferable
