Candidate Series | Part 2: The Interview Is Over. What Happens Next?

You’ve finished the interview. Now what?

One of the most important things you can do is speak to your recruitment partner while the conversation is still fresh in your mind.

How do you feel it went?
What did you like about the opportunity?
Did anything concern you?
Has your interest increased or decreased?
Were salary, flexibility or working arrangements discussed?
Is there anything you wish you had answered differently?
Most importantly — if offered the role, would you take it?

Be honest with us.
If you have doubts, tell us. If another company is interviewing you, tell us. If your circumstances have changed, tell us. If you’re no longer interested, that’s okay too — but communicate it.

Your recruiter can only represent you properly when we understand what you’re thinking.

We also speak with the hiring manager after the interview. Your feedback helps us manage both sides of the process, clarify misunderstandings and keep things moving.

Going silent after an interview doesn’t help anyone.
Good recruitment is a three-way partnership between the candidate, recruiter and hiring manager — and communication is what makes that partnership work.

Next: Part 3 — Honesty, transparency and why communication matters throughout the entire recruitment process.
