Manufacturing Operative

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Operative to join a busy production environment where you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop new skills and work alongside an experienced team.

What you’ll be doing
- Learn and develop practical manufacturing skills through on-the-job training.
- Complete required training and achieve agreed skill levels.
- Support your department while gaining an understanding of other areas of the business.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Assist with additional tasks and occasional off-site training or work when required.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improvements.
- Help maintain high standards of quality and productivity.
- Work towards key performance targets, including quality, scrap and Right First Time (RFT).
What we’re looking for
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent; further education is an advantage.
- Previous manufacturing or construction experience is beneficial.
- Counterbalance or Reach forklift licence is an advantage.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
- A positive, practical approach and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- A growth mindset and genuine interest in developing new skills.
- Reliable, motivated and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

Timber Manufacturing General Operative
We are currently recruiting a Timber Manufacturing General Operative to join a well-established timber manufacturing company based in Kill, Co. Kildare.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing. Full training will be provided, with a structured progression from trainee to fabricator after the initial training period.
Working as part of an experienced production team, you will manufacture high-quality timber products while maintaining excellent quality, safety and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture timber products to customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Operate hand-held power tools, including drills, cutting and boring equipment.
- Load, unload and move materials throughout the production process.
- Carry out quality inspections to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Complete routine equipment, quality and health & safety checks.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, construction or similar hands-on environment.
- Experience using hand-held power tools.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within timber manufacturing, woodworking, forestry or similar industries.
- Experience working to production targets.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 6S principles.
- Experience operating manufacturing machinery (beneficial but not essential, as full training is provided).
Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
Mandatory overtime is required once or twice per week, typically finishing between 6:00pm and 7:00pm, with occasional Saturday work available.
Pay & Benefits
- €17.69 per hour during the first 3 months' training.
- Increase to €18.37 per hour upon successful completion of training.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x
- Monday to Friday working week.

Quality Control Technician
Our client, an established manufacturer within the food and beverage sector, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their expanding quality team. This is a permanent, full time role supporting a busy production environment where consistency, precision and strong collaboration are essential.
Role Overview
The quality control technician will be responsible for carrying out quality checks on raw materials, in process samples, and final products. Working as part of a dedicated quality function, you will contribute to ensuring products meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This position involves regular interaction with production, purchasing and laboratory teams to support efficient operations and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory analysis across a range of products and materials.
- Prepare and manage reference standards for comparative testing.
- Assess raw material deliveries to verify compliance with specification criteria.
- Maintain accurate records, including certificates of analysis and QC documentation.
- Support HACCP and other food safety monitoring processes.
- Prepare samples for external laboratory testing when required.
- Manage retained samples and maintain an organised laboratory environment.
- Carry out calibration, cleaning and basic maintenance of QC instruments.
- Monitor stock levels of lab consumables and chemicals.
- Identify issues within the QC process and contribute to problem solving initiatives.
- Follow all GMP, GLP and site specific quality and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in a scientific discipline.
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong IT competency, particularly in MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
