About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join a residential service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who values person centred support, dignity, independence and creating a warm, homely environment where individuals can thrive.


What You’ll Do

  • Act as a Key Worker, developing and implementing person centred support plans.
  • Promote autonomy, choice, self-advocacy and community participation.
  • Support daily living needs, personal care, communication and independent living skills.
  • Implement behaviour support plans and coordinate medical appointments.
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive and well-run home environment.
  • Keep accurate records and uphold safeguarding, compliance and HIQA standards.
  • Work collaboratively with your team and participate in regular training & supervision.

What You Need
Essential

  • Minimum Level 7 QQI qualification in Social Care Studies or an equivalent Health/Social Care field.
  • Registered with the Social Care Workers Registration Board (CORU).
  • Full, clean manual driver’s licence, suitable for driving vehicles up to 8 seats
  • At least 1 years’ experience supporting vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred practice, safeguarding and HIQA standards.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and IT skills.
  • A reliable, empathetic, professional approach with strong confidentiality and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Training in positive behaviour support (e.g., Studio 3 / low arousal).
  • Knowledge of the New Directions model.

What You’ll Do

  • Support adults with intellectual disabilities in their daily lives.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and community inclusion.
  • Develop and deliver person-centred care and support plans.
  • Assist with personal care, household tasks, and social activities.
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What You’ll Need

  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
 

Desirable:

  • Training in Studio 3 or positive behaviour support.
  • Experience in residential, community, or not-for-profit care settings.
  • Familiarity with the New Directions model of care.
