Temporary Financial Controller

Contract: Immediate start until Christmas, with potential to extend

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation operating across multiple European markets. The business provides specialist equipment, consumables and technical support services across the healthcare and related sectors.

An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly take ownership of the day-to-day financial control and reporting requirements across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support the month-end close process.
  • Deliver accurate financial and commercial reporting to senior management.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments and inventory.
  • Support tax reporting and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Assist with annual audit processes and liaise with auditors and external advisors.
  • Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities in Ireland, the UK, Austria and Switzerland.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow reporting and financial analysis.
  • Assist with intercompany accounting and group reporting.
  • Work with ERP and accounting systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to finance processes where appropriate.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to operational and commercial stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Strong post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller, Financial Accountant or similar role.
  • Solid experience across management accounts, financial reporting and month-end processes.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Experience with statutory accounts, audit and tax reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
  • SAP Business One experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines and hit the ground running.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to finance.
