About the Company

Our client, Irish Stairlifts & Bathrooms (ISB Mobility), has been providing mobility and accessibility solutions across Dublin, Leinster and Ireland since 1999.

They are now looking for a technically minded Stairlift & Mobility Product Engineer to join their growing service team.

This is a field-based role where you will visit customers in their homes and premises, installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of mobility and accessibility equipment.

About the Role

As a Stairlift & Mobility Product Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that mobility equipment is installed correctly, maintained to a high standard and operating safely.

You will work with a range of products including:

  • Stairlifts

  • Domestic and vertical home lifts

  • Powered wheelchairs

  • Mobility scooters

  • Other mobility and accessibility equipment

The role would suit an experienced field service engineer or someone with a strong mechanical and electrical background who enjoys hands-on technical work and working directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission stairlifts and other mobility equipment in customers' homes.

  • Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic and battery-related faults.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters and diagnostic equipment.

  • Carry out fault finding and identify the root cause of technical issues.

  • Complete safety and operational checks following installations and repairs.

  • Demonstrate equipment to customers and provide clear instructions on safe operation.

  • Attend customer call-outs and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

  • Provide technical support and advice to customers.

  • Keep up to date with new products, technologies and manufacturer requirements.

  • Work in line with company health and safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical and mechanical work involving battery-powered equipment.

  • Strong practical mechanical and electrical knowledge.

  • Experience using hand and power tools.

  • Experience using a multimeter and basic diagnostic equipment.

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

  • Full clean driving licence.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own daily schedule.

  • Willingness to travel extensively as part of the role.

  • Willingness to participate in a weekend breakdown cover rota.

  • Reliable, professional and punctual approach.

  • Right to work in Ireland.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Stairlift installation or servicing

  • Field service engineering

  • Mobility equipment

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Battery-powered equipment

  • Lift or elevator equipment

  • Powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters

  • Access equipment

  • Domestic electrical or mechanical installations

Full product training will be provided for the successful candidate.
