Senior Manager – Accounting Services

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced practice accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded accountancy firm in Naas as Senior Manager – Accounting Services. This is a key leadership appointment, offering responsibility for an established portfolio of owner-managed businesses, the opportunity to mentor and develop a talented team, and the autonomy to influence how accounting services are delivered across the practice. Working closely with the Partners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the firm while building long-term client relationships. The Role:

  • Manage a substantial portfolio of audit-exempt companies, sole traders and owner-managed businesses.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for clients.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual financial statements and associated tax compliance work.
  • Manage, supervise and develop qualified and trainee accountants.
  • Ensure work is properly planned, allocated, reviewed and completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve accounting, taxation and commercial issues.
  • Monitor budgets, recoverability and fee levels across the portfolio.
  • Support the transition of client relationships from the retiring Senior Manager.
  • Help improve and standardise how accounting services are delivered across the firm.
  • Participate as a senior member of the firm’s management team.

Desired Attributes / Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally 7+ years post-qualification experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
  • Strong experience managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
  • Significant experience preparing and reviewing accounts for audit-exempt companies and sole traders.
  • Good knowledge of Irish corporation tax and income tax compliance.
  • Experience managing and developing staff.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • The confidence to make decisions and operate with limited partner involvement.
  • Strong IT skills, including a high level of competence in Excel, and the ability to use accounting and practice management software effectively.
  • A practical, commercially aware and solutions focused approach.
  • Experience at Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level would be particularly relevant.
