Position Summary

Our client is seeking an ambitious and customer-focused Accounts Sales Executive to join their internal sales team. This role is ideal for an individual with previous sales experience who enjoys building relationships, managing customer accounts, and driving business growth.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, developing existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities. They will work closely with customers, external partners, and internal departments to ensure exceptional service delivery and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer enquiries relating to quotations, orders, and stock availability using the company's ERP system.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.

  • Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities to maximise conversion rates.

  • Manage and develop an assigned customer base.

  • Work towards sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Identify opportunities to expand business within existing and new accounts.

  • Handle counter sales activities and support margin achievement objectives.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including quotations, customer interactions, sales opportunities, and follow-up activities.

  • Provide customers with the most suitable technical and commercial solutions where appropriate.

  • Manage customer queries, complaints, and issue resolution in a professional manner.

  • Work closely with external partners and the wider sales team.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to order completion.

  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain a proactive approach to business development and revenue growth.

Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a sales environment.

  • Previous internal sales experience is essential. 

  • Experience within the construction, building materials, roofing, cladding, manufacturing, engineering, or related sectors would be advantageous.

  • Experience dealing with contractors, architects, engineers, or specialist subcontractors is beneficial.

  • Experience managing customer accounts and developing business relationships.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems preferred.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9001:2015 would be beneficial.
