Safety Advisor
Experienced Health & Safety Advisor
Leinster | Construction & Multi-Sector EHS Consultancy
We have been retained by a well-established and growing Health & Safety consultancy to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their Leinster-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional who wants more than a single-site role. The position offers exposure to a broad range of projects and industries, regular engagement with senior site personnel and clients, and the opportunity to develop your technical expertise across a varied consultancy environment.
The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of professional responsibility, providing practical, commercially aware Health & Safety advice and helping clients maintain high standards of compliance and workplace safety.
The Role
Working across client sites throughout Leinster, you will provide hands-on Health & Safety support across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting Health & Safety inspections, audits and compliance assessments across client sites.
Identifying site-specific hazards and providing practical advice to ensure risks are appropriately controlled.
Reviewing and developing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and associated Health & Safety documentation.
Supporting clients in maintaining compliant and effective Health & Safety management systems.
Investigating accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences and assisting with appropriate corrective actions.
Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and other key personnel to drive improvements in Health & Safety performance.
Supporting the preparation and delivery of Toolbox Talks and other safety briefings.
Providing clear, practical and professional advice on Health & Safety legislation, standards and best practice.
Ensuring site documentation is current, relevant and properly implemented in practice.
Building effective working relationships with clients and becoming a trusted Health & Safety point of contact.
Maintaining accurate records and reporting on inspections, findings and actions.
The Environment
The role provides considerably broader exposure than a conventional single-project Safety Advisor position.
You will have the opportunity to work across a varied client base spanning areas such as:
Construction | Pharmaceutical | Agriculture | Sporting | Equestrian | Commercial & Industrial
This variety makes the role particularly suited to someone who enjoys being out on site, dealing with different working environments and applying Health & Safety principles in a practical rather than purely administrative capacity.
The company also places a strong emphasis on professional development and ongoing training, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to broaden their sector knowledge and continue developing their EHS career.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a capable and confident Health & Safety professional with practical site experience and the ability to operate independently across multiple client environments.
Essential:
Relevant experience in Health & Safety / EHS, ideally within the construction sector.
A recognised third-level qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
Practical experience conducting site inspections and audits.
Experience with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements and best practice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent English.
Full EU driving licence.
PPS Number and eligibility to work in Ireland.
Comfortable working across multiple sites throughout Leinster.
Desirable:
Consultancy experience or experience supporting multiple client sites.
Experience investigating accidents, incidents or dangerous occurrences.
Experience delivering Toolbox Talks or safety training.
Exposure to sectors beyond construction, such as pharmaceutical, agriculture, industrial or commercial environments.
Recently qualified Health & Safety professionals with strong practical exposure will also be considered where they can demonstrate the required technical capability and site awareness.
What You Can Expect
This is an opportunity to join a professional and growing EHS consultancy where your experience will have a direct impact on client safety performance.
You can expect:
A varied, multi-site role across Leinster.
Exposure to multiple sectors and working environments.
Regular client and site management interaction.
Ongoing professional training and development.
The opportunity to broaden your EHS technical and consultancy experience.
A supportive and professional working environment.
A full-time Monday–Friday position, generally 8:00am–5:00pm.
Immediate availability is advantageous.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is practical, credible and confident on site.
You should be comfortable walking onto a site, identifying the key risks, engaging directly with site management and workers, and providing advice that is both technically sound and workable in practice.
You will need strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client requirements while maintaining a consistently high professional standard.
Most importantly, this role will suit an EHS professional who takes pride in doing the job properly and wants to build a long-term career within a varied consultancy environment.
Location
Leinster-based | Multi-site
Regular travel between client sites is an integral part of the role, therefore a full EU driving licence is essential.
We are committed to providing an inclusive recruitment process. If you require any reasonable accommodation or adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know and we will be happy to support you.
