Manager (Temporary Contract – to end August)

Location: Dublin 7 (Hybrid: 2–3 days remote)


Overview
Lead the delivery and development of a national registration and accreditation scheme for Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters.
You’ll manage day-to-day operations, ensure high standards, and work with stakeholders including interpreters, the Deaf community, and public bodies.


What You’ll Do

  • Manage the ISL interpreter registration system
  • Lead operations, planning, and service delivery
  • Oversee staff, budget, and resources
  • Maintain policies, standards, and compliance (incl. data protection)
  • Support interpreter development (CPD, audits, training pathways)
  • Engage with stakeholders and promote the scheme
  • Support Board governance, reporting, and administration

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ management experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering complex services/programmes
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • Experience with reporting, stakeholders, and compliance
  • Willingness to learn Irish Sign Language

Bonus (Desirable)

  • Experience with the Deaf community or ISL sector
  • Knowledge of accreditation/registration systems
  • Public/community sector experience

This is a varied role with responsibility across operations, governance, and stakeholder engagement in a developing national service.
