Internal Sales Executive

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and personable Internal Sales Executive to join our client's team at their Portlaoise site. This is a desk-based sales role focused on managing and growing a portfolio of clients within the steel supply sector.
You will play a key role in advising customers on technical steel products, identifying the best solutions for their needs, and building strong, long-lasting relationships. This position suits someone who enjoys both the technical and people-facing sides of sales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts
  • Respond to inbound sales enquiries and generate new opportunities
  • Advise clients on technical steel products and recommend suitable solutions
  • Prepare quotations, process orders, and follow through to completion
  • Build strong, friendly, and professional relationships with customers
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to understand their ongoing needs
  • Work closely with logistics, and external sales teams
  • Track sales activity and update CRM systems accurately
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within your client base

About You

  • Previous experience in a target-driven sales executive role
  • Comfortable working to sales targets
  • Experience in steel, construction materials, or a technical product environment is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with a natural ability to build rapport
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident in a “chatty” client-facing role
  • Commercially aware with a proactive sales mindset
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
