Freight Forwarder, South Dublin

A freight forwarder is responsible for arranging, coordinating, and tracking the movement of goods across domestic and international transport networks. This role suits someone who is organised, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

Manage day-to-day freight forwarding operations for import and export shipments.
Book and coordinate transport with carriers, hauliers, and customs partners.
Prepare and check shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or service issues.
Liaise with customers to provide updates, answer queries, and maintain strong service levels.
Work closely with customs, warehouse, transport, and customer service teams.
Support cost control by selecting efficient routing and transport solutions.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, transport regulations, and customer requirements.

Candidate profile

Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transport operations.
Strong knowledge of road freight, import/export processes, and shipment documentation.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Confident using transport or forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.
Problem-solving mindset with good organisational skills.

Desirable experience

Experience working with Irish and UK freight movements.
Customs or export clearance knowledge.
Experience dealing with third-party hauliers and carriers.
Familiarity with time-critical or high-volume logistics environments.
