Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and growing organisation based in Co. Kildare. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a commercially focused role combining strong financial management with business partnering. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and KPI analysis, while providing insight to support key business decisions. Working closely with operational teams, you will identify opportunities to improve costs, margins and performance, while leading and developing a small finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking to make a genuine impact within a senior position.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control

  • Produce accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in line with standards.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Oversee statutory accounts preparation and manage auditor engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax obligations, and risk protocols.
  • Build and own a full KPI suite (operations, sales, profitability, stock, margins, cash).
  • Analyse financial results, highlighting key drivers, trends and risks.
  • Investigate performance variances and challenge teams with data-driven insight.
  • Support pricing, margins, tenders and contract profitability analysis.
  • Lead annual budget and regular forecasting cycles.
  • Develop scenario models and long-range planning tools.
  • Pressure-test business cases, tenders and capex proposals.
  • Work with production and supply chains to understand operational metrics and cost drivers.
  • Improve stock controls, margin visibility and operational reporting.
  • Support initiatives improving productivity and reducing waste.
  • Enhance financial systems, automation and data quality (Excel/Power BI).
  • Streamline month-end processes and improve reporting speed and accuracy.
  • Embed a continuous improvement culture across finance operations.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small finance team.
  • Embed high standards of accuracy, discipline and accountability.
  • Upskill team members and implement best-practice processes.

  • Excellent technical accounting and financial management skills.
  • Professional at Excel and analytical capability.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to present insight clearly.
  • Collaborative, confident and adaptable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
  • Professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • 7 – 10 years’ relevant experience (manufacturing/construction/ SME desirable).
  • Experience leading small finance teams.
  • Experience improving systems, reporting and business partnering.
