Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer

Our client is a well-established Irish engineering company specialising in the supply, installation, calibration, validation and maintenance of specialist technical equipment across a broad range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Field Service Technician / Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Field Service Engineer or a technically minded engineering graduate looking to develop their career through structured training and hands-on experience.

The Role

Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for servicing and supporting a wide range of specialist equipment at both the company’s workshop and customer sites throughout Ireland.

Duties will include:

  • Installation and commissioning of specialist equipment.
  • Calibration of instrumentation and reference equipment.
  • Equipment validation (IQ/OQ).
  • Preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Fault finding and technical troubleshooting.
  • Preparing equipment for customer delivery.
  • Providing technical support to customers.
  • Producing service reports, calibration certificates and associated documentation.
  • Working to recognised quality standards including ISO9001 and ISO17025.

The role is primarily based in Naas, Co. Kildare, with regular travel throughout Ireland and occasional overseas assignments.

Candidate Requirements

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • A qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Instrumentation or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in a hands-on engineering, service, maintenance or installation role.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent practical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience working with technical equipment and customer-facing environments.
  • Good computer literacy and the ability to complete technical documentation accurately.
  • A full manual driving licence.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A willingness to travel throughout Ireland and occasionally overseas.

Experience in calibration, industrial instrumentation, validation or working within ISO quality environments would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive product training will be provided.

Recent engineering graduates with the right attitude and practical aptitude are also encouraged to apply.
