Engineering Manager

Job Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Greenvale Park, Donore Road, Drogheda, Co Louth (On-Site)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Fully Onsite
Schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours)
Reports to: Factory Manager

Key Responsibilities/Duties
• Manage and oversee engineering projects from initiation through to completion, including planning, budgeting, execution, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Support site expansion, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all projects meet regulatory, environmental, and company standards.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimise manufacturing performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support audits and ensure all engineering documentation is maintained to a high standard.
• Ensure all contractors are properly inducted and adhere to site rules and permit-to-work systems.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure it is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure minimal downtime through effective planning of PMs and rapid response to breakdowns.
• Oversee the management of the Maintenance Team to ensure department efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of contractor activities, permits, and certifications.

Qualifications/Experience
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably food or FMCG.
• Proven experience managing teams.
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement tools.
• Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC) is desirable (not essential).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
