Bookkeeper

Salary: €40,000 – €45,000 DOE
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (Fully Onsite)
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company based in Naas, Co. Kildare, for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing the day-to-day accounts function, working independently, and taking ownership of their workload. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring VAT, RCT, and subcontractor processes are managed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Complete bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Manage RCT administration and ensure compliance
Process subcontractor payments
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Support month-end reporting and finance administration
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders as required

Requirements

Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or similar accounting role
Strong working knowledge of VAT and RCT
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload effectively
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office

Ideal Candidate

Previous experience within the construction industry
Experience working in a busy SME environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to take ownership of the finance function
Accounting Technician qualification or similar advantageous
