Accounts Technician / Bookkeeper
Our client, a well-established and growing professional services firm based in West Cork, is seeking an experienced Accounts Technician / Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a varied role, managing a portfolio of clients while developing their skills within a busy practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a diverse client portfolio.
- Calculate and prepare monthly VAT returns and ensure timely submissions.
- Process payment and receipt transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of management information and year-end files where required.
- Liaise with clients regarding financial records and bookkeeping queries.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with relevant financial procedures.
- Provide general administrative support as required within the office.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A Diploma in Business Studies, IATI qualification, or an equivalent bookkeeping/accounting qualification.
- Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
- Strong numerical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
