Accounts Assistant
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a supportive and collaborative finance team in Kildare in an on-site role. This position will play a key part in the day-to-day operation of the finance function, supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll preparation, and month-end activities. The role would suit a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a structured, office-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and goods received notes.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate supplier master data and respond to vendor queries.
- Process invoices and credit notes in line with internal controls and company policies.
- Allocate cash receipts accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and manage outstanding balances, ensuring timely collection of overdue accounts.
- Follow up on outstanding debts and agree payment plans where required.
- Manage debtor queries and resolve account issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring all payments are correctly allocated within the system.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently.
- Collate and prepare information to support weekly and monthly payroll processing.
- Taking orders and answering queries over the phone
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Experience & Attributes
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance administration role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
