Responsibilities:
As an Entry-Level Fabrication Operator, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Safely fabricating pole products on-site in compliance with customer specifications and EN quality standards.
- Collaborating with fellow fabrication team members to ensure seamless operations, including daily treatment charges loading/unloading, and other related tasks.
- Implementing the 6S methodology to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Upholding the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and investigating any non-conformances.
- Participating in relevant training for daily tasks, actively engaging in team-based work when needed, and conducting daily checks to ensure pole quality, cut-backs, and H&S equipment compliance under CATCH guidelines.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Proficiency in operating chainsaws, drills, and other cutting/boring equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of customer product quality specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a self-motivated and positive approach.
- Excellent organizational skills, conscientiousness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable or Willing to be Trained:
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing systems and the 6S methodology.
- An introductory background in wood science or forestry management is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a team environment, and willing to assume leadership and share responsibilities as needed.
- A comprehensive understanding of the company's EHS policy requirements and quality standards.
