We are currently in search of a committed and proficient Service Technician to join our team in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Ireland.
Position Summary: The Service Technician will play a vital role in the upkeep, servicing, and repair of batteries and industrial chargers at various customer locations. This role primarily involves installation, maintenance, and responding to emergencies to ensure optimal functionality of customer equipment, including battery chargers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot batteries and industrial chargers at customer sites according to established standards and technical specifications.
- Provide customers with instructions on equipment usage and maintenance, offering recommendations for new or replacement products as necessary.
- Identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities by negotiating sales of new or replacement products during customer visits.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults accurately, and complete detailed reports using a PDA.
- Work independently at customer sites, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant documentation.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to Health and Safety, actively participating in safety initiatives and reporting incidents to enhance workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with large-scale batteries and chargers, though not mandatory, is advantageous.
- Electrical or electronic qualifications such as C&G, 17th edition, ONC, NVQ, etc., are desirable but not essential.
- Must be physically capable and willing to travel nationally as needed.
