Control Room Manager – Security Industry
Clark Recruitment is partnering with an established security and monitoring services provider to recruit an experienced Control Room Manager.
This is a key operational leadership position with responsibility for the day-to-day management, performance and continued development of a busy Control Room and Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
The successful candidate will lead the Control Room team, maintain high standards of operational and regulatory compliance, develop processes and systems, manage client relationships and help drive continuous improvement across the function.
This role would suit an experienced Control Room, ARC or security operations professional who combines strong people leadership with technical knowledge, commercial awareness and a hands-on approach to operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operation and performance of the Control Room and Alarm Receiving Centre.
Manage, support and develop Control Room Operators, including rosters, leave, training, performance reviews and ongoing development.
Develop and maintain operational procedures, Control Room manuals, assignment instructions, workflows and service protocols.
Develop a comprehensive training and competency framework for Control Room personnel.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry, regulatory and quality standards, including EN 50518, SR 25, SR 45, ISO 9001 and applicable PSA/EQA requirements.
Oversee the effective use and administration of Control Room monitoring and customer-support systems.
Ensure new connections and services are appropriately configured, tested and implemented in accordance with required standards.
Work closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, IT and other internal stakeholders to continually improve Control Room performance.
Develop operational reporting and use data and analytics to identify trends, improve performance and support decision-making.
Project manage the implementation of new services and solutions for clients.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as a senior operational point of contact when required.
Support client presentations, proposals and business-development activity relating to Control Room and monitoring services.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for new technology, integrations and service improvements.
Drive a culture of excellent customer service, accountability, compliance and continuous improvement.
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
Previous management or supervisory experience within a Control Room, Alarm Receiving Centre, security monitoring centre or similar 24/7 operational environment.
Strong people-management and team-development experience.
Knowledge of Control Room operations, monitoring systems and associated technology.
An understanding of relevant security industry standards, compliance and licensing requirements.
Strong operational and project-management capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Confidence dealing directly with clients and external partners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use operational data to drive improvements.
Commercial awareness and the confidence to contribute to client presentations and business-development opportunities.
The ability to manage competing priorities and remain effective within a fast-paced operational environment.
