The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Manager to join their senior management team and play a central role in shaping the company’s commercial strategy and future growth plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute, people-focused leader to take ownership of a sales function, drive ambitious growth targets, and directly influence business direction at board level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals to drive accelerated, profitable, and sustainable growth (targeting +20–30% turnover growth by end of 2029)
- Conduct comprehensive market research to inform robust business plans for expansion and development
- Prioritise exceptional service for existing customers while actively acquiring new clients and managing relationships effectively
- Lead and manage a sales team of 8 to deliver key strategic results
- Monitor commercial performance against key metrics (margin growth, new business, product mix) and prepare reports and presentations for senior management
- Contribute to budget development and financial target setting, with ongoing monitoring of financial and sales performance
- Collaborate with the board of directors and senior managers to shape the company’s long-term strategic vision
- Review and optimise departmental structures for maximum efficiency
- Foster cohesion and a unified strategy within the sales department to drive organisational success
What Our Client Is Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior commercial role
- Background in Construction and/or Manufacturing highly desirable
- Relevant degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering Management (Level 9 preferred)
- Demonstrated success leading and managing a sales team
- Confident working with CRM and/or ERP systems
- Track record of building sales year-on-year
- Strong understanding of the value of brand development
