Trade Counter Sales Advisor

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused and organised Trade Counter Sales Advisor to join our client's busy Cork branch. This is a varied role where you'll be the first point of contact for customers, supporting trade counter sales, processing orders, managing enquiries and helping to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist customers collecting orders from the trade counter.
  • Handle customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
  • Process sales orders, dispatch notes, order acknowledgements and related documentation.
  • Manage trade counter sales, walk-in orders and customer collections.
  • Track customer orders and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Process electronic payments, cash sales and daily branch reports.
  • Manage hire sales, returns and stock returns.
  • Liaise with the sales and purchasing teams to ensure excellent customer service and stock availability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Support monthly trade counter promotions to drive sales.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business and promote the company's full product range.
  • Maintain accurate records and support day-to-day branch administration.
  • Follow company Health & Safety and operational procedures.
  • Participate in product training and ongoing development.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a customer service, sales support or administration role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Sage experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
