Warehouse Operative – 9 Month Contract
Our client is a leading furniture supplier and contract fit-out partner to the commercial interiors industry. They partner with architects, designers, and furniture manufacturers to create spaces that work for some of the world’s most renowned businesses.
This is a 9 month Fixed Term Contract
Own Transport and Driving License is necessary for this position
They are looking for an experienced warehouse operative to operate the Interiors section of a shared warehouse in Baldonnell. The Interiors section provides the warehousing requirements for high-end commercial furniture. The post holder will work in an autonomous and stand-alone way to operate the section, however, there will be collaboration with other warehouse colleagues at specific times when required.
We expect the post holder to put their stamp on the section and to operate it in the most efficient and effective way to ensure the timely retrieval of multi-part items so that client deadlines and deliveries can be met.
The role primarily reports to the Logistics Manager but since this is a section of a warehouse, also reports to the overall Warehouse Manager on matters relating to Warehouse health and safety.
Tasks/responsibilities
• Operating the warehouse.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to ensure an efficient and effective system of the storing and retrieval. of multi-part items.
• Handling inbound stock.
• Stock placement and storage.
• Stock checking.
• Updating of schedules.
• Retrieving stock items at short notice in a systematic way.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of stock within the section.
• Use of the company vehicle for company deliveries.
• Housekeeping to ensure a tidy and safe environment.
• Carrying out operations in a safe way in line with health and safety requirements.
• Continuous improvement.

Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar or relevant role.
• Previous experience in dealing with a sales team would be an advantage.
• Forklift training will be given where required.
• Driving licence
Working Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:15pm
Other
Own transport is necessary due to the location.
The post holder will be expected on occasion to stay past the normal finishing time to take in deliveries or attend to outbound deliveries.
