Payroll Specialist

My Carlow-based client seeks an experienced, IPASS-qualified payroll professional to deliver efficient and confidential payroll services. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure accurate application of payroll taxation, statutory and voluntary deductions, and adherence to all payroll control processes and procedures. Core duties will include but, not limited to:

Core Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to all payroll control processes and procedures.
  • Complete all payrolls within strict processing deadlines.
  • Adhere to payroll taxation and statutory deduction requirements.
  • Comply with Revenue’s payroll and expenses data requirements.
  • Recommend improvements for payroll processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Prepare monthly payroll deductions and maintain deduction scheme details.
  • Provide confidential pay-related information to staff.
  • Maintain payroll records for audit and internal information purposes.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Revenue payroll and expenses processing requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Desired Qualifications / Attributes:
Have the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the role and be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard.

  • Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard
  • IPASS Qualification or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise;
  • At least 3 years relevant Payroll experience
  • Good knowledge and experience of using IT systems e.g. payroll systems, Excel, Word etc.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, team working skills

This is a 6 month contract position.
