Job Title: Part-Time Health & Safety Officer
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Contract Type: Part-Time, 2 days per week
Duration: Approx. 3–6 months

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our client’s team on a part-time basis. Our client is a Naas?based manufacturer and supplier of steel and GRP (glass?reinforced plastic) access products such as open?grid flooring, stair treads, handrails, platforms and bespoke fabricated metalwork for industrial and construction projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to support on-site operations by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment. The role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work independently and provide expert guidance on health and safety matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary health & safety advisor on-site, providing guidance and support to staff and management.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Update and manage training records, ensuring all staff are compliant with required certifications.
  • Arrange and coordinate training courses for staff as needed.
  • Record, investigate, and report accidents and incidents in line with company policy and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain and update health & safety systems and documentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of health & safety processes across the site.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in writing Risk Assessments and SOPs.
  • Competent in maintaining training records and arranging courses.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Relevant health & safety qualifications (NEBOSH or equivalent) preferred.
