Accounts Assistant

We are currently recruiting an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance department within a well-established business in County Kildare. This role will suit someone who enjoys getting stuck into their work, takes pride in accuracy, and values being part of a close-knit, collaborative team.
This is a hands-on position offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to play a key role in day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Prepare bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
  • Process sales invoices and support accounts receivable reporting
  • Process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and follow up on required documentation
  • Maintain and administer the purchase order (PO) system
  • Reconcile credit card transactions
  • Support financial data analysis as required
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure appropriate documentation and authorisation
  • Provide general finance and administrative support as needed

Skills & Experience

  • Accounting Technician qualification (or equivalent) desired but not essential
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a busy finance function
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • IT literate
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a practical, can-do approach
