As the Assistant Laboratory Manager, take on a transformative role, supervising all lab operations to ensure maximum output and quality. Duties and responsibilities:
  • Serve as a contact point for the laboratory with the customer and the company’s Production Department to address day-to-day issues.
  • Monitor staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and protocols with special emphasis on procedures put in place to avoid cross-contamination and exposure of samples to undesired temperatures or to potential contaminants.
  • Review the previous day’s production records with staff daily.
  • Address issues and review plans for the day accordingly.
  • Monitor laboratory logistics including check-in times.
  • Manage staff to ensure they are utilizing time correctly, and efficiently, and are working together or individually as needed to finish required tasks on each shift.
  • Conduct periodical evaluation of inventory and handle inventory resupply orders.
  • Reconcile packing slips/invoices/POs for supplies, equipment, and services and submit them to the Laboratory Manager for approval.
  • Fill in for laboratory technicians as needed during unforeseen staff shortages.
  • Provide on-call remote support to laboratory staff during operational hours not on-site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
Education and qualifications
  • Secondary or higher Laboratory Education
  • 1 year minimum experience as a lab technician
  • English, both written and verbal
  • Able to communicate in an effective and professional way
  • Technical skills Computer literate
  • Willing to travel
