This is a key role within the Institute. Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, or his / her nominee, the role will provide a professional and comprehensive data reporting support role to the whole department. The role will be expected to exploit the data reporting capabilities of existing systems and packages to deliver a robust, enhanced financial reporting capability across the department.
Duties Include:
- Collation of data from various Institute systems to support the preparation of the full range of external and internal reporting requirements for the Institute and its subsidiaries.
- This will include, but is not limited to:
- Unit Costing Reports
- Annual Financial statement supporting schedules
- MAPP collation
- Payroll Budget workings
- Internal Budgets
- Actuals versus Budget
- Self-Financing activities
- HEA, DHFERIS reporting requirements
- Funding body requirements
- Auditor information requests
- Ad hoc reporting and data analysis as required.
- Ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all reporting data.
- Support the maintenance and development of the Fixed Asset Register including recording of additions and disposals as well as Fixed Asset reporting.
- Supporting the overall allocation of the Institute’s financial resources in accordance with Institute policy and monitoring of same.
- Monitoring and reporting of performance against budgets / forecasts / plans.
- Participate in the continued development and support of the Institute’s Internal Financial control policies and procedures.

- Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard;
- Be a part / full member of a recognised Accountancy Body
- An appropriate honours degree in a related discipline.
- Significant relevant experience in a similar role including extensive data reporting experience, ability to exploit data reporting capabilities, data analysis, budget monitoring and variance analysis
- Excellent information technology skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to established deadlines and develop prioritisation.
- Good planning, communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
- A pro-active and problem-solving approach with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and develop prioritisation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
