We are partnering with our client to recruit a Maintenance Electrician & Instrumentation Technician to join their innovative company who are at the forefront of building material products, technology, & sustainability.

Reporting to the Electrical Chargehand & Planner, the purpose of this role will be to provide technical expertise in electrical & instrumentation maintenance whilst ensuring continuity of our production facilities on site.

This position is an initial 6 month assignment with the possibility of permanency.

Responsibilities:

  • Energy isolation to required standard to ensure safety of relevant employees, contractors and equipment.  Adherence to LOTOTO procedures.  EI electrician role for the weekly washdown.
  • Maintain Electrical & Instrumentation aspects of all machines to ensure availability to production to achieve required outputs.
  • Installation and maintenance of all Electrical & Instrumentation aspects of machinery/equipment.
  • Installation and maintenance of Instrumentation & Controls Systems for the plant.
  • Calibration of weighing and measurement equipment.
  • Work to PPM schedules, liaise with the planner preparatory when planning work, complete method statements / risk assessments as required.
  • Liaise with maintenance management/supervision to improve machine performance.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics for electrical breakdowns.
  • Working on shift in a 3 or 4 cycle roster where required.
  • Assisting with drafting/writing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure work area is always tidy demonstrating high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
  • Responsible for training of Instrumentation apprentices.
  • Other duties as outlined by Maintenance Supervision.

 

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Apprenticeship trained Instrumentation Technician
  • 3 years post apprenticeship experience in a high speed and high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate 100% flexibility
  • Experience troubleshooting using HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for a wide variety of Electrical, Instrumentation and PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley and Schneider)
  • Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of PLC systems and Instrumentation Control Loops
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
  • Be willing to learn new skills/processes as requested by the company
