Our Kildare based client have an opening for an Accountant to join their team. This is a hands on role, where you will build relationships with key stakeholders and work very closely with the Financial Controller.

This role offers you autonomy and the opportunity to oversee the finance function for the company. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or IATI qualification with at least 5 years similar industry experience

• Working knowledge of Sage Accounts & payroll

• Excellent IT skills, MS Office & Excel, ABM

• The ability to work individually and as part of a team

• The ability to train, assist and bring along junior members of staff

• The ability to solve and resolve coordination issues

• Strong communication and organisation skills

As the Accountant your duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing finance function for the company

• Preparation of trading company accounts to Trial Balance stage along with compilation of audit file for the purposes of annual external audit

• Preparation & completion of weekly payroll

• Completing and ensuring Company Taxation statutory filing requirements are met in a timely manner (e.g. bi-monthly vat returns etc)

• Completing and ensuring Intrastat & VIES statutory filing requirements are met in a timely manner

• Completing and ensuring relevant CSO filing requirements are met in a timely manner

• Processing of bank account entries and completion of monthly bank reconciliation

• Accounts receivable duties including processing of customer invoices, issuing statements and credit control of debtors listing

• Supervision, training and support of accounts payable position

• Project management of costings with current projects, liaising weekly with sales team in relation to current and ongoing projects , staffing and costings

• Work with wider company departments to ensure a functional understanding of department financial reporting and various other metrics

• Ensure completion of all month end tasks

• Highlight any anomalies identified to relevant management and ensure follow up investigation of same

• Perform any other account functions/ad hoc duties as assigned and presentation of results of same to appropriate person
